Meet Emily Shank
Emily is a family law attorney experienced in a wide scope of matters. Emily handles divorce, custody, property division, child support, alimony, pre-marital agreements, marital settlement agreements, adoptions, protective orders and LGBTQ+ matters. She has repeatedly served as a Court appointed Child’s Attorney in custody proceedings. In addition to litigation, Emily is trained in Collaborative Divorce, is a certified Mediator, and serves as a Settlement Officer in contested matters. Emily knows that when someone is in the throes of a family dispute, it is likely one of the worst periods of their life. They are often angry, sad, confused and overwhelmed. She knows that it can feel lonely and makes a point to remind her clients that they are not in this alone. Although she has a gentle bedside manner with her clients, she is a fierce advocate. She has been recognized by The Daily Record for their Leading Women Award (2019), Carroll County’s Family Law Clinic Volunteer of the Year (2019), served on the Court of Appeals Standing Committee for Pro Bono Services (2021-2022), and has been recognized by Maryland Super Lawyers for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
She lives in Baltimore with her Husband, two kids, and three huge dogs.
